Echo A Salon

If you’re ever on the Connecticut shoreline and you’re looking for a fabulous place to get your hair cut and/or colored – look no further. Echo, a salon on Guilford’s historic Whitfield Street right off its award-winning green, happens to be a Cubicle Chic favorite. Whether it;s your first time or fiftieth time there, you’ll feel like family from the moment you step inside. Don’t be surprised if, ten minutes into your visit, you’re sipping on champagne and boppin’ your head to groovy tunes while chatting it up with the other clients around you. If the atmosphere and decor don’t woo you, the stylists will. They are all talented in different ways and really work with you to figure out what’s best for YOU, your skin tone, facial structure, etc.; for them, it’s making sure that your new ‘do fits your personal style. We posted some befores and afters for you, but keep in mind that there won’t be huge transformations because we mostly wanted to stick with the styles we already had.

A couple of weeks ago, we stopped by to get our tresses tamed, and we snapped a few photos with Neil’s fancy shmancy camera (thanks Neil!).

To be honest, I didn’t really want much of a change this time. I wanted a trim, a more intense red color and newer, bolder highlights. Mary Grace, who I’d recommend to anyone who needs a color correction or wants to do a complete color change, formulated my new coppery red color. Corinne, who’s been my stylist for thirteen years, reshaped my messy mane.

MEREDITH BEFORE: OUT-OF-CONTROL BANGS

Red Hair

Here’s Kat workin’ her magic! My bangs were out of control! They were poking me in the eye all day. This is the downside to bangs: if you are at all adverse to hair in your face, well… that’s the definition of your haircut. Damn it. She said she didn’t understand why some hair stylists are afraid of cutting bangs (exactly what you, as a client, want to hear!).

New Haircut

There’s nothing like a new haircut to make you feel like you’re ready to go out and conquer the world.

Huge thanks to the ladies at Echo – we had a great time and love our hair styles!
