Lindsay said it on Monday and I’ll repeat it today – we’re back! I’m always anxious to return to blogging when we take time off, so I’m happy to be back. Of course, a break wouldn’t be complete without some sort of issue, so we apologize for this hack that some of you are experiencing! A few readers have told us that they see adds for perscription medication instead of our post titles, and we’ve been going through the steps to try and fix this problem. Unfortunately, we don’t have the know-how quite yet on how to forge ahead and just re-install everything, so this is taking longer than we’d like! We promise to get things in order as soon as we can.
As you either heard or experienced yourself, the East Coast has been suffering through an intense heat wave recently. The last few days have been gloriously comfortable, but last week and weekend were brutal. Needless to say, I was not wearing these black trousers and long-sleeved cardigan in that heat. This look was saved for one of the seventy-five degrees and breezy days.
This outfit was built off of the shoes because they are an unusual color and perfect for summer and a casual dress code. They take what could come across as a more fall or winter look and give it a touch of brightness. I’m also happy to say that they are comfortable! I found them on major sale at Nordstrom Rack and couldn’t say no to a low heel and pointed toe. I may have also purchased the same pair in black patent…
Any weekend plans, readers? Lindsay and I are getting out of the city for some time by the pool, birthday cake and long walks on the beach

I love my Sammy Davis Vintage silk t’s. I have one in navy and one in brown, and they are often the first blouses I reach for in my closet. I’ve already worn the navy option here and here, and the above silk-t here, and that’s not too much, right?? They are excellent layering pieces, look great belted, and they are colors that I love to wear. This one might actually be the exact shade of my hair. So why is it that my hair is red and my shirt is brown?
The night we took these photos was a good one. After a stressful day, Lindsay and I wandered to Union Square for pictures at dusk. The lighting was great, so it was the perfect chance to experiment a little with our cameras. Also, Lindsay was able to nail the “tranquil and pensive” look. We followed the photo session with cocktails at Olive’s in the W Hotel where Heather (the best bartender in town!) made us some delicious blackberry concoction… we couldn’t get enough. Photos, cocktails and girl talk: the best way to end a long day.

Cubicle Chic is about dressing for the workplace, but a young professional’s life is about more than just the 9-5 world – we’ve still got our evenings and weekends to dress for! With Cubicle Goes Casual, we’ll share some of our favorite casual looks so you can see the flip side of our sartorial lives.
This is the best and the worst kind of Friday. The Friday before a long weekend. You are so excited to finish up your day and hop in the car/bus/train to your weekend plans, but then it is the looooooooooongest day ever. Is it really still 10:30am?
My outfit is a little festive tribute to the 4th. I found this top at Forever 21 recently, and I think the stripes go well with the polka dot shoes. These darlings don’t get out much, though. They are they kind of flats that aren’t forgiving in the least, and your feet are dying at the end of the day. Lucky for them, they’re cute.
Enjoy your holiday, and we’ll see you back here on Tuesday for next week’s WYCC!
